Strong encryption Färist Micro is based on IPsec standards and supports digital certificates for automatic key negotiation. Encryption is performed using AES-256. The system provides forward secrecy. Färist Micro connects to a Färist VPN or a Färist IEG. Färist Micro is approved for the Restricted level in certain EU countries. Compatible Färist Micro can be connected to all laptops or devices with an Ethernet port or USB depending on the model, such as IP phones, video conferencing systems, etc. ESP packets can be encapsulated in UDP to support NAT traversal.

For use in particularly demanding environments, ruggedised and hardened versions are also available, meeting strict military specifications and well suited for environments requiring compliance with regulations such as the NIS Directive. The solution supports digital certificates for automated key management, with encryption keys handled via smart cards or USB, and provides perfect forward secrecy to ensure the highest level of protection. The product has been developed in close cooperation with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration and the Swedish Armed Forces and is approved for the Restricted classification level, both as a standalone component and as part of a Färist Mobile system in several EU countries.
