About us

The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority is one of approximately 60 authorities in Sweden with special significance for society’s emergency preparedness and total defense. We work to create a strong civil defense in a society safe from the harmful effects of radiation. As a preparedness authority, we strengthen society’s ability to withstand threats and risks in everyday life, in the event of threat of war and in the event of war. Within nuclear and radiological emergency preparedness, our task is to be proactive, and in radiological emergencies that can lead to damage to human health or the environment, we provide advice and support to other actors.

For us, the goal is for Swedish society to be as radiation safe as possible, even under disturbed conditions.
