About us
Micropol is a supplier and manufacturer of fiber optical communications systems to critical infrastructure. Micropol Fiberoptic is located outside Halmstad on the Swedish south west coast and have been in business for more than 35 years. Our name “Micropol” is generated from “micro polishing” which is our mark – we polish fiber at a precision that few can copy. For this reason, our products have lower reflections and losses and can transfer higher data speed then our competitors, without additional cost.
Our customers are found in a large variety of markets where advanced fiber optic solutions are crucial. Our products are used in a whole range of technologies, from complex fiber optic networks for telecom and data communication, to advanced sensor systems for industrial, medical and military applications. For the Defence & Security market, we offer optical cable systems and sensor systems for intrusion and early detection.
Micropol has 57 employees in Sweden and in sales offices in Germany, the UK and USA. The 2025 turnover was 10 MSEK.

FALCON Expanded Beam Connector
The FALCON connector has the best optical performance on the market with transfers speeds all the way up to 40 Gbit/s, this can be achieved with Micropol lens technology and state of the art production and alignment process.
PROCON Termination kit
Micropol Fiberoptic´s new PROCON expanded beam connectors offer good attenuation with an insertion loss of <1,5 dB. Micropols termination instructions are easy to follow and the high-quality components guarantee a perfect alignment of the ferrule to ensure the highest optical performance.

Micropol Cable Reel
Cable drum made of sheet metal with auxiliary spool for storing and safely transporting all types of lines and wires. The connector from the reel centre is parked in a two-story rubber cloth shelf system. Accessible from multiple angles. Connector from reel perimeter attaches with a plastic hook fitted on the handle, via dust-cap wire. The reel is locked in position with a rotation brake on the reel backside.
Backpack for tactical cable drum
Micropol offers low weight ergonomic backpacks for field deployment of optical fiber in any harsh surroundings. This easy to carry backpack is well suited for use in a variety of situations, e.g. mobile emergency telecommunication stations, broadcast applications and mining and exploration operations.
Micropol Military ODF
Rugged ODF boxes for rough conditions and vibrations Micropol Military ODFs (Optical Distribution Frame) are used as connection panels in fiber optic cable systems. We manufacture and supply customized cable systems with rugged, high-quality field cables that can resist shaky environments with a lot of vibrations, as well as Antarctic ice and Saharan heat. Micropol has been developing expanded beam technology since the late 1980s. We offer a number of different types of expanded beam connectors, both for Single-Mode and Multi-Mode. They are all hermaphroditic, so they are always connected correctly, without an adapter. Dirt, vibrations, or hard hits We have large stocks of field cables, cable winders and rugged connectors. Regardless of whether you require cable fittings, chassis fittings or a tailor-made application that contains them both we have short delivery times. Event Fiber reel
Micropol manufactures and delivers a wide range of products and several accessories within telecom and broadcast. The cable usually used for our event reels is based on a long development together with the armed forces. The event fiber reel is adapted for tough environments, which makes it excellent for sporting events, concerts and live broadcasts. The event fiber reel is also used as an emergency solution in the event of an unwanted cable cut or other fiber breaks. The product's low weight and length adjustment mean that several city networks and media production companies today have different variants to meet the need for fiber at different events. Micropol Intrusion Alarm
Secure your critical Infrastructure Today’s highly connected society consists of a dense network of fiber and electrical wirings connected to cabinets and hubs. These cabinets are today often unlocked and can be accessed with simple tools. Even doe they can contain sensitive infrastructure. Sabotage to these units can severely damage the infrastructure and create blackouts and costly repairs. Micropol has developed a concept for a fiber optic-based alarm system specially designed for protecting critical infrastructure cabinets and joint closures from intrusion. The intrusion alarm can be fitted to all kinds of closed compartments and can use the existing fiber network to the cabinets.
