We provide new knowledge and stronger connections between people as a tool for improved security.

Among many occupational groups there is a lack of equal encounters with people with disabilities. Police officers, medical staff and fire fighters need to make quick decisions in emergency situations. Having positive experiences with people with, for example, Down Syndrome and autism, can help in demanding situations.

For professionals who meet the target group on a regular basis there is also often a need for increased knowledge and reflection on attitudes.

In the Avtryck project cultural workers with disabilities lead workshops in dance, visual arts and drama, along with discussion on attitudes.

Artistic expression provides wider opportunities for communication, especially when looking for alternatives to verbal communication. Thus, through strengthening artistic expression we enable greater participation and influence in society. We show the we are here among you all.
