GIMS is a service and web-based system for efficient and automated management of all kinds of information in a standardized service flow: register, catalog, quality control, publish, visualize and distribute. GIMS is developed to place information in a geospatial context if the customer so wishes. Most information sets have, clearly or implicitly, a geographical reference which in many contexts acts as the most effective link between similar information sets. Information sets can be given geospatial references, for example that documents are relevant within a municipality and thus geosearchable within that area, potentially only by those who have geoauthorization there.
GIMS enables real-time collaboration, including geospatial, visualization of information volumes and sharing of data in a secure manner between all connected actors and security protection classes, even in segmented environments. Great emphasis has been placed on creating an intuitive and user-friendly environment with high security.
