Nazar Akrami received his Ph.D. from Uppsala University in 2005 and began his postdoc and teaching career there before moving to the National University of Singapore. In 2007 Akrami received the early career award from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. In 2008 (Docent), he was appointed as a research assistant professor by the Swedish Research Council. He is since 2011 a senior lecturer at Uppsala University. His research falls within the area of personality and social psychology and includes stereotyping and prejudice, personality niche-building processes, personality assessment, and extremism and radicalization. Akrami works now, with colleagues from Swedish Defence Research Agency, on hate speech detection and risk assessment.
