Mr. Townsend-Drake joined the London Resilience Group from the British Red Cross, where he served as the Emergency Planning Lead for London. As London Resilience Manager, he has responsibility for a diverse portfolio of work and also serves as the London Resilience Group’s lead for counter-terrorism, CBRN and mass fatality planning. He is heavily involved in London’s strategic coordination arrangements and has responded to a wide range of incidents (both civil protection and counter-terrorism), including the Westminster, London Bridge and Finsbury Park attacks. He serves as an expert in the field of counter-terrorism for the NATO Civil Protection Group. He initiated the Counter-Terrorism Preparedness Network in June 2018 and has since led the establishment and coordination of the network.
